Girls Weekend in Nashville

This is my second recent stay in Nashville, and I already have two more trips planned for the next year… So I think it’s is safe to say that I love Nashville and I highly recommend it! Yes it’s a great place for bachelorette parties and country music, but it is so much more! Nashville is home of amazing food, great art, southern hospitality, and amazing musical talents! A weekend in Nashville is always a weekend well spent!

Hotel:

We stayed at The Holiday Inn near Vanderbilt. I was impressed with the hotel, and it was an easy uber to anywhere you wanted to go in the city. This entire trip was actually very low-key, and we spent a lot of time in our hotel room laughing (and sleeping).

Instagramable Spots:

Nashville has no shortage of Instagramable street art and gorgeous backdrops! The famous wings mural is located near Milk and Honey (which I highly recommend for Brunch) in the Gulch. Also, the Legends mural is located on the side of one of my favorite bars on Broadway (Legends Corner).

Food Recommendations:

  • FGL House (broadway): We eat here every time we come to Nashville. I am obsessed with their Mac & Cheese and Spicy Chicken Sandwich!
  • Ole Red (broadway): Ole Red has a beautiful inside, with a huge stage for performers. I highly recommend the hot chicken biscuit and fries!
  • Milk and Honey (the gulch)  An absolutely fabulous Brunch location with excellent mimosas! I recommend the “hot mess” or the “bacon, egg and cheese”. Also, if you want to get a good picture – the “Wings Mural” is right down the street!
  • The Red Door Saloon (midtown): A very fun bar, especially if you are wanting to get away from Broadway. Named one of the top bars in Nashville by USA Today. Plus, their food is excellent as well! (This technically goes in both my food and bar recommendations)
  • The Diner (downtown): A huge, 3 story diner serving everything from coffee and pastries, to full meals, and exquisite desserts! I had coffee and lava cake (yes, YUM)! Others got Hot Chicken, Mac and Cheese, Cheesecake, and Biscuits and Gravy. Everyone was impressed.

Bar Recommendations:

*Before reading this list, I’d like to note that there are TONS of new, beautiful bars on Broadway that have artists names associated with them. I might go these bars during the day to take advantage of their rooftop views; however, their drink prices are absolutely ridiculous*

  • The Tin Roof (near music row): The original Tin Roof Bar has become one of my absolute favorites. They have a location on lower Broadway; however, I prefer the original location (located near The Red Door Saloon)
  • Big Shotz (Broadway): Big Shotz has extremely affordable drinks and literal “big shots”. They sell jello shots in large syringes, and they are amazing (but note that the shots are cash only).
  • Broadway classics like Legends, Laylas, and Bootleggers (Broadway): While the new bars are pretty and modern, I still love the original, old-school bars with the classic Nashville vibe. Plus, their drinks prices aren’t insanely inflated.
  • The Sand Bar (Vanderbilt): An incredibly unique, outside bar with sand and beach volleyball (without the beach). We had outstanding pineapple mimosas, in actual pineapples!

Recap:

While the overall recap for the whole trip is pretty much just eating delicious food, visiting great bars with great music, and sleeping. However, Olivia and I were lucky enough to see Taylor Swift’s Reputation Stadium Tour while we were in town. It was absolutely incredible and flawless! Even if you don’t enjoy her music, you would have appreciated the insane showmanship, entertainment, and quality of the show! I highly recommend seeing her if you ever get the chance!!
