Jewel Paradise Cove Resort

Runaway Bay, Jamaica

Dustin and I stayed here at Jewel Paradise Cove in Runaway Bay, Jamaica during week two of our February vacation. To recap, I stayed at Sandals Grande St. Lucian with my family during week one.

We looked at A LOT of different places before booking this trip and nothing spoke to us until we found Jewel Paradise Cove on Trip Advisor. This trip was the most affordable Caribbean trip that I’ve ever scored. We stayed for six nights, all-inclusive, in a top-tier Butler suite for only $1,000 per person. I do think that we got a highly discounted stay due to COVID, so I can’t speak to their normal rates area, but it’s worth doing some research.

Most people know my loyalty has been to Sandals Resorts for some time now, so I have to start by saying that Jewel Paradise Cove was much smaller, local feeling, and does not have quite the same top-shelf luxury when compared to Sandals. However, I would 10/10 return to Jewel Paradise Cove.

We actually loved the local feel of this resort. We made friends with many of the employees and the service was excellent all around. You can read my full review of Jewel Paradise Cove on Trip Advisor, where I name-dropped our favorite employees because they get recognition from management when guests do this. So pro-tip: always keep a note with people’s names in it when you travel!

The food was very good. We especially enjoyed trying the local Jamaican food at the Coral Cafe’ each day. The coffee shop was incredible and Aaron Martin made BOMB smoothies on the beach every day!

I wouldn’t normally book a Butler room, because we are pretty independent and low-maintenance. However, for the price, we couldn’t say no. Our Butler, Crista, was amazing. We came back to Champagne on ice and a cheese platter every day.

Each day, we would sit on our balcony admiring the incredible scenery, in robes, enjoying our snacks. It was truly the perfect way to unwind and relax. Then every evening, we would grab a bottle of champagne from our room and take it to play life-size chess while the sunset. After dinner, the entertainment team threw a dance party in the main lobby bar. We danced and laughed with the friends that we made and our favorite bartender, Kerisha!

Again, I truly recommend Jewel Paradise Cove – especially for the price! We had an incredible time. Dustin fell in love with island life and is ready to move to Jamaica when we decide our time in Danville is up. Somehow I don’t think I will take much convincing. LOL
