Staycation at the Historic Brookstown Inn

Winston Salem, NC

The Historic Brookstown Inn in Old Salem is not only absolutely gorgeous but makes for a fabulous staycation! There are many things that I’m going to share with you that made this such a special hotel. The staff was always helpful when needed. And even though it was rainy during a lot of my stay, I still had a great trip because I never truly had to leave to enjoy the local specialties that the area has to offer.

The Room:

I stayed in their Victorian Suite, which offered a living area, small sink and refrigerator, bedroom, and spacious bathroom with a large soaking tub! I think I took 4 baths in the 2-night stay that I was with them. lol, so relaxing!

What makes it special?

I visited during the month of December, so the Christmas decorations throughout the hotel were beautiful. However, the best part was the fact that not only do they offer free delicious breakfast – but they also have a complimentary wine and cheese hour in the evening. PLUS, a complimentary cookie and milk hour at night!

Dining:

While there is not a restaurant in the hotel – there are several great dining options within walking distance! Meridian is located right next door for a more formal option. And there is an Italian restaurant right across the street, called Di Lisio’s.

Things to do

As far as nearby things to do, the Old Salem Museums and Gardens is a great local place to stroll and learn a bit of history. It’s also a beautiful photo opportunity.

Wood and Thread Boutique is an adorable women’s clothing boutique right across from the Historic Brookstown Inn. The owner is SO nice! I worked with her while I was there to get some photos of her newest arrivals. She does not have a website for the boutique, but if you follow them on Instagram – you can DM her and she can invoice you and ship your items that way. 🙂

There is also a great coffee shop and the same locally owned pet shop in the shopping center.

Conclusions:

If you are looking for a good romantic staycation getaway at a nice hotel where you don’t really have to leave to have a good time… then the Historic Brookstown Inn is for you! Thanks for reading and please follow along on Facebook and/or Instagram for future adventures and travel ideas!

Until next time,
