Things to Note for Visiting Yosemite National Park
This blog post is going to be primarily visual – because pictures can speak of this beautiful location much better than my words ever could. I’m not a national park expert and I can’t give you tons of helpful navigation tips – but I can tell you…. you should just go. Don’t worry about not knowing exactly where to go inside the park. The entire park is gorgeous and there are plenty of signs and pull off locations for you to get out, walk around, and take photos. So here are things to note for visiting Yosemite National Park.
But I will say that it is an extremely large national park. You could camp in the park for a week and probably still not experience every single detail that Yosemite National Park has to offer. But again, don’t let that intimidate you. We only had roughly six or seven hours in the park and it was absolutely worth going.
My favorite location in Yosemite National Park is Glacier Point – which is the highest altitude in the entire park. It gets rather cold in the park, especially as you get higher and higher in altitude. I suggest wearing leggings or pants and layers. We went in July and I wrapped myself in an airplane blanket to get to the top of Glacier Point.
Because the park is large, you will have to drive around quite a bit to get from place to place. A good address to put in your GPS to get you there to start your day would be Yosemite Valley Visitor Center, 9035 Village Dr, Yosemite Valley, CA 95389. Parking lots do fill up quickly during peak season, so just be patient with yourself and enjoy the moment. And my biggest tip is: if you see something cool… pullover and check it out. It’s as simple as that.
