Thanksgiving in Nashville
Nothing in this blog post is sponsored or part of a collaboration. This was an actual “vacation” for me – and a much needed one at that. As much as I love it, my constant travels are not always the most relaxing. They are fabulous in their own way and I wouldn’t trade it for anything; but in those types of trips, I stay very busy and on a schedule.
During this trip to Nashville, I spent half of my time in my bedroom of our adorable Airbnb (sign up and get $40 off your first booking). I needed to rest and just have some alone/downtime. So, this might not be the most exciting blog post that I’ve ever created. However I still chose to write about it, to remind everyone that we all need some downtime every once-in-a-while. Plus, we did do a few new things and explored some new areas.
Where We Ate:
- FGL House:
- Olivia and I’s favorite restaurant in Nashville – Mac and Cheese all day!
- The Pub:
- A new favorite, located in the Gulch. Highly recommend their Hot Chicken and Boneless Wings. Plus, you can grab a photo at the Wings Mural on your way.
- George Jones:
- Another all time favorite, located on Broadway. They also have a great rooftop bar!
- Monell’s
- Let me start by saying that we went here for Thanksgiving Lunch/Dinner. They were serving a family style, classic Thanksgiving meal. The food was good, but not worth the 5 hour wait that it took to get in. When we got there, they told us 3 hours – which is still crazy. But it was a nice day and they had a bar, free non-alcoholic drinks, and snacks outside for you to enjoy – so we were ok with the wait. However, it did end up getting a bit out of hand.
What We Did:
-
Topgolf
- The best way to describe Topgolf is that it is same process and set up as bowling, but it’s a driving range. You are assigned a “bay” and you take turns hitting the ball at targets. It was actually really fun, even though I was absolutely awful at it. Plus, it’s surprisingly affordable (especially with a large group).
-
Shopping
-
Fatherland Street
- This is probably my favorite place for “shopping local” – located in East Nashville. It is a pretty small area, but they have 8 or so really unique and affordable boutiques.
-
12 South
- I wasn’t quite as impressed as I thought I would be with 12 South. Most of the boutiques were insanely priced. But we did find one that we loved called Vinnie Louise.
-
-
Broadway
- Broadway is the most iconic part of Nashville. This is where all of the bars and clubs are located. You can read about my favorites and past experiences in my previous Nashville Blogs. Every bar has live music – all day and night. Just remember to tip the bands every once in a while. Because the bars don’t charge a cover fee, it is just a common courtesy and respect to tip the bands.
Holiday Shopping and A GIVEAWAY!
With the downtime and it being Black Friday and Cyber week, I did a lot of online shopping and got pretty much all of my Christmas shopping done. For another day or two, I do have a giveaway going on with a boutique called Revie; you can find it on my Instagram feed. Look for the same photo that is above this paragraph :)!
What’s Next?
I have a feeling that December is going to fly by in a whirlwind. It’s one of the busiest times at work (SOL testing). Also, I have several small weekend trips planned, a wedding and several family gatherings. THEN, James and I are running away to Jamaica for some much needed quality time.
As always, thanks for reading and please send any travel questions my way. I love and appreciate everything that you guys ask/send me. It’s never bothersome, it actually helps me when trying to reach out for future collaborations. So help me, help you find your next trip – small or big! Follow along on Instagram. Talk soon!
