Simple Homemade Toothpaste Recipe
Simple Homemade Toothpaste Recipe
If you’re looking for a simple homemade toothpaste recipe, this coconut oil toothpaste is made with just a few basic ingredients. Coconut oil, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide come together to make an easy DIY toothpaste that you can mix at home.
Watch me make it here!
Ingredients:
- 2–3 tbsp coconut oil (softened, not fully melted)
- 1–2 tbsp baking soda
- 1–2 tsp hydrogen peroxide (the internet quickly told me to use food grade so I’m including that note here… I didn’t when I made this recipe and I turned out just fine)
Optional (but helpful):
- A few drops of peppermint essential oil (for taste + freshness)
- A pinch of sea salt (mineral boost)
Instructions:
- Mix the coconut oil and baking soda into a paste.
- Slowly add the hydrogen peroxide until you get a smooth consistency.
- Adjust texture:
- More coconut oil = smoother/less abrasive
- More baking soda = thicker/more scrubbing power
- Store in a small glass jar.
How to use:
- Dip your toothbrush in (or use a small spoon to scoop).
- Brush gently.
